And it all comes down to this: a chance for Serena Williams to redeem herself against Mugurza on of the biggest platforms possible. Today, Serena competes for yet another Wimbledon championship. But this time , she faces an opponent that is... "not afraid of her".
21 year old Garbine Mugurza states that she knows she can beat Serena Williams and that she's not afraid of her. According to ESPN.com, Mugurza stated "She knows that I can win against her, that I'm not afraid." Mugurza has at least two simple reasons to make statements such a bold statement.
1) She has already defeated Serena.
Last time they faced each other, Mugurza won in a huge 6-2, 6-2 victory. This was easily one of Serena's worst losses for her as a professional. With that being said, Mugurza has the right to say this until Serena proves otherwise.
2) This is her attempting to psych Serena out.
While this is not to be overexamined or dramatically seen as something more than it is , it must be considered as Mugurza throwing a jab at Serena. Saying that "She (Serena) knows that I can win" is Mugurza sort of wanting Serena to doubt herself and take Mugurza seriously. With that being said , tug on Superwoman's cape, and you may not get the response that you want. Or it can work.
Who do you have winning?

Short History: Jack Nicklaus
This past weekend, Jordan Speith won his first Master's tournament hosted in Augusta , Georgia. Being just 21, Speith has a very good chance of winning plenty more. With that being said, Speith has to win 18 more Major Championship in order to become mentioned with the elite. So who earth won 18 times against the best-of -the -best in that time period? Not Tiger. Not Phil. Not anyone except the Grandfather of golf, Jack Nicklaus.
Jack Nicklaus was born and raised Upper Arlington , Ohio. Similar to Speith, Nicklaus also turned professional at a young age. By the time he was 21 , he had won his first major championship victory. At age 25, Nicklaus had two Master's tournament Championships under his belt. Throughout his college tenure, Nicklaus won both the U.S amateur and the NCAA Championship within the same year, going on to win the amateur twice.
Nicklaus has had many, many accomplishments throughout his career. Jack was definitely a winner. Jack , nicknamed "The Golden Bear", went on to quickly grow into stardom after defeating Arnold Palmer for the first time at the Oakmont tournament. At this time, Palmer was a bona-fide star , so the defeat made Nicklaus the new kid on the block. From there, Nicklaus would go on to win plenty of times, mostly competing against Palmer. Between the ages of 24-26, Nicklaus won the Master's tournament back to back. In 1963, Nicklaus approximately earned $200,000 in prize money. As time passed, Nicklaus would continue to increase his winning.
Nicklaus would team up with Palmer to win multiple World of Golf tournaments, and Nicklaus would go on to not only win tournaments, but win in convincing fashion. By the time Nicklaus finished his career, he would go on to be:
-PGA Tour Rookie of the Year
-PGA Tour Player of the Year (5 times)
-#1 Money List Golfer (8 times)

Short History: Billie Jean King
While many shed little light particularly on women's sports, there are a few female superstars that stand out: Venus Williams, Serena Williams, and Maria Sharapova. With that being said , these people are all successors of the original tennis superstar, Billie Jean King.
The Beginning of The Journey
Born on November 22nd 1943, King first learned how to play tennis on free courts in her hometown of Long Beach, CA. Starting to play professionally at the tender age of 15, King had a multitude of ups and downs. At 16, King won her first adult tournament at the Philadelphia and District Woman's Grass Court Championships. While she did have a slight taste of success early, she also had her number of defeats Throughout the early years of her career, she was defeated a number of times by the same people. It took King five times to defeat Dorothy Cheney in the early stages of her career. It also took King ten matches to defeat Margaret Court. Despite her early struggles of losing many of early matches, King prevailed, improving each and every year.
1966 And Beyond
The year 1966 was sweet for Billie King. She defeated both Cheney and Court for the first time in career. In addition to defeating them, King went on to win her first Wimbledon championship. This would be the beginning of a King's era.
In 1971, King won a historic 17 tournaments in one year. In 1973, she made a huge statement against 55 year old Bobby Riggs in a "Battle of the Sexes". Riggs claimed that women's tennis was not nearly as competitive as men's tennis, claiming that even he could still beat any top notch female player. Playing for $100,000, King defeated Riggs, which showed that women should be more respected in the game.
Throughout her career, King won 32 total Grand Slam titles, (12 single, 16 women double, and 10 mixed doubles). King dominated the late 60's - early 70's , being ranked in the top 3 of the world for over a decade. King , now a hall of famer, is considered one of the greatest to ever play. She showed that through dedication, anything can be accomplished.
