So What is SportsWatcherss?

My company, SportsWatcherss, has a brand new site. It looks completely looks different from the one that we had in the past. Well, there is a reason for that. With our new website, we have finally, finally, finally made a site that people can BUY, SELL, and TRADE sports items on! This has been a goal of ours for a while, so we are proud to now allow any and everyone to be able to do these things amongst each other.

SportsWatcherss is an online marketplace. When you think of SportsWatcherss, think of a site very similar to Amazon or eBay. On those sites, users can do three things: buy products, sell products, and trade products. The difference between us and them is that we cater to a particular market. We cater to the sports and fitness industry.  Our site makes it easier and better to find anything that people want when it pertains to finding sports items. In a marketplace , people can get a variety of items, even if the items are similar. This gives users many different choices to pick from. The beauty of the market is that it's run by: you, the people. The people are the ones who can purchase items if they like, sell items if they like, and trade items with others if they like.

Just as our website allows users to sell goods on the site, we also allow businesses to sell their respected items. This can benefit a business in many ways. Selling goods on our marketplace allows for businesses to sell on more than just their site. In addition, our transaction rate of just 8% on all items is lower than most of our competitors.

While our main focus is the marketplace, we do also have additional features. If you click on our menu bar, we do have a blog in which we write articles about technology, health, and business within the sports industry. Our newest feature is the creation of our snapchat filters. We now create snapchat filters for sports events. This would serve as an excellent marketing tool for organizations since many teens and young adults use Snapchat. This would be cool for participants as well, as this would let them show the world how cool the event they are at truly is!

Here at SportsWatcherss, we strive to make our website a  community. As a company, we promise to do the best that we can to cater to the needs of you, members of the SportsWatcherss family.  You can register as a user on www.sportswatcherss.com.

DakTronics

First discovered as a word on the  NBA shot clock, curiosity struck while I was attending a Miami Heat game. Above the numbers of the shot clock appeared one word: "Daktronics". Never heard of that company before. What  exactly is Daktronics?

History

Born in 1968  at South Dakota State University, two professors by the name of Drs. Aelred Kurtenbach and Duane Sander founded the company. By 1971, the company created their first sports board. By 1994, they entered the stock market.  At the top of the sports technology industry, Daktronics is a company that is responsible for making LED signs.  From theme parks to local high schools , Daktronics products can be seen. Let's take a closer look at how their products impact the sports world as we know it.

Being an electronic based company in this day and age, companies such as these can and will always find business. Daktronics have sold products in each of the following sports:  Aquatics , baseball, basketball, cricket, football, hockey, lacrosse, motorsports, pari-mutuel, rodeo, rugby, soccer, squash, tennis, track & field, volleyball, and wrestling. In other words, almost every sport you can imagine.

NBA

Their biggest sports customers are the NBA. Teams such as the Heat, Hawks , Warriors, Bulls , Thunder and Mavericks use Daktronic's services.

19 of 29 NBA facilities have Daktronics scoring and/or display equipment." (via darktronics.com)
According to Daktronics here's the number of teams that use their products: As we can see, Daktronics has most products in most NBA teams. While Daktronics dominate in scoring/display equipment, companies like ANC Sports have managed to create competition for Daktronics in this field. With that being said, per systems do not hinder their success in the bigger picture at all.
From high schools to professional teams, Daktronics has made a name for themselves. In the fiscal year of 2015, Daktronics made a total of $616 million dollars in revenue. Not too bad for just a name atop of the shot clock.

NHL

18 of 30 NHL facilities have Daktronics integrated super systems.
23 of 30 NHL facilities have Daktronics scoring and/or display equipment."(via darktronics.com)
IF you think their presence is large in the NBA, take a look at the stats for the NHL. Over 76% of NHL teams use Daktronics scoring equipment. It would be more difficult to make a list of teams that DON'T use Daktronics equipment.

Sports Tech: Zybek Sports

Last Month, the NFL held their annual NFL combine. The NFL combine is an event held in Indianapolis annually in which college/semi-pro athletes get a chance to show off their ability to all of the pro scouts in the NFL. The combine itself is invite only, so this is a huge deal for many who dream to one day play in the NFL.

At the NFL combine, many players are tested on general physical attributes such as strength, coordination, and speed. In previous years, attributes such as speed would simply be recorded using more simpler technology like a watch timer. However with the advancement of technology, we can calculate data with more precision.  For the past five years, a company by the name of Zybeck Sports has had a major impact on the NFL Draft.

Zybeck sports is a company that sells performance equipment in order for athletes to get accurate measurements on their ability to do certain things. Rising from Colorado in 2008, Zybeck has already earned the ability to measure the 40- yard dash at the combine in order to be compare that time to the 40-yard dash of other professional times recorded for the athlete. The 40- yard is very essential for alot of popular positions. The running back, wide receiver, corner back, safety, linebacker , and even quarterback must take this event very seriously. This test can potentially be the difference between  earning $2 million dollars per year and $420,000 per year.

This is just a small part of the impact that technology plays in sports. As we advance further into technology, who knows what technology can and will do to effect sports. Companies similar to Zybeck Sports  are striving to provide the best possible innovations that may help athletes of all kind.
