ChalkTalk: Keep up with Coaching Styles

In this day and age, teams are trying to get an advantage any way they can. Nowadays, a connection between sports and technology is evidently changing sports: whether it be improvements for the body, a team, or recruiting. For now, we will be focusing on an app called ChalkTalk.


Digital Playbook
With ChalkTalk, you can form a playbook. With X's and O's , plays for softball, football, or basketball. With the digital playbook, you can bring up any plays from the simple touch of your mobile device. Need a quick play during a timeout or an intermission? You can setup more plays for that specific section. ChalkTalk is available on Google Play and the Apple Store.

Can UCLA be considered the lone "Cinderella" left in the tournament?

In nearly every single tournament, there is that one team that people saw from nowhere getting to at least the Elite 8. This year, are are no real surprises. Last night, two #1 seeds, a #2 seed, and a #3 seed. This year, the lone lower seed left is #11 UCLA. But with their history, are they really contenders?

When most watcherss think of the  most dominate teams in college basketball, they think of Duke, North Carolina, and Kentucky. Out of all these great teams, which school has the most championships? UCLA. UCLA is the university with the most NCAA Championships in all of men's college basketball. UCLA is the farm that produce players like Russell Westbrook, Zach Lavine, and others. In the 1960's and 1970's the UCLA Bruins ran the table , winning 10 National Championships in  a span of 12 years.

Although the UCLA Bruins are a number 2 seed, they are facing a Gonzaga team that has trouble facing athletic teams. Under the coaching of Steve Alford , look for the UCLA to have a great chance at winning the game. 

Fading Away

     With March Madness in full swing, alot of college basketball fans are wondering this: Why isn't there a college basketball game out? Well, once upon a time there was.
     Since 1995, Electronic Arts Sports (also known as EA Sports) created a game made specifically for college basketball. In 1998, the popular "NCAA March Madness" series began in 1998, which was originally only available to PlayStation.

 
 From then on, NCAA March Madness took the gaming industry by storm, with many memorable features such as having the ability to create players and sending to the user's school of choice, building up a dynasty for up to 30 years, and having a "lockdown stick" in order to pressure the basketball. In 2004, the series began to fully blossom into a well respected game throughout the sports industry. By 2006, the March Madness series had it's greatest IGN rating off all time: 8.7 In the latter years of the game, sales annually declined as producers seemed to lose new innovation that would the game selling at a high level. In 2009, the name changed from "NCAA March Madness", to "NCAA Basketball". Unfortunatley, by 2010 the game was discontinued.

     As a fan, I present these questions: Will there ever be another college basketball game? If so, how will it maintain interest from college basketball fans and newcomers of college basketball? With these questions at hand, college basketball should remain hopeful; for a game to eventually rise, and never fade away.
