Blake Bortles is the former quarterback of University of Central Florida. Standing tall at 6ft 5inches and 232lbs, Blake Bortles has been compared to the likes Ben Roethlisberger. This past season, he led UCF to a record 12-1 and to a BCS bowl game.
STRENGTHS:
Bortles has many strengths. For one , he has great size as a quarterback. His 6'4 height allows him to see over the pocket easily. In addition , his large frame will make him someone that will not be tackled easily. In the NFL, quarterbacks have to make sure that they can somehow elude pass rushers. Some quarterbacks have speed, and others have strength.
Another one of his strengths is his deep ball. In the NFL, it is nearly impossible to be really successful if you can't at least throw a 30 yard ball. Players who can do this can create big plays , which is important in any offense. One of Bortles strengths is throwing the deep ball.
Good accuracy is a requirement when being a quarterback on any level. This is something that is known to be a strength of Bortles. In one game, he went 20-27 beating Penn State in an important game. Good accuracy is needed in order to keep drives going and ultimately set up a team to score.
WEAKNESSES
Bortles has a lot of work to do when it comes to footwork. He tends to throw off of his back foot which is a no no unless you can throw that way consistently. Also, he has not reached his potential so he may need to learn from someone first. This could be very beneficial though, just look at Aaron Rodgers.
Overall , I believe that as a rookie he should be rated a 73.
