Wimbledon Final: Williams vs. Mugurza

And it all comes down to this: a chance for Serena Williams to redeem herself against Mugurza on of the biggest platforms possible. Today, Serena competes for yet another Wimbledon championship. But this time , she faces an opponent that is...  "not afraid of her".

21 year old Garbine Mugurza states that she knows she can beat Serena Williams and that she's not afraid of her. According to ESPN.com,  Mugurza stated "She knows that I can win against her, that I'm not afraid." Mugurza has at least two simple reasons to make statements such a bold statement.

1) She has already defeated Serena.
Last time they faced each other, Mugurza won in a huge 6-2,  6-2 victory. This was easily one of Serena's worst losses for her as a professional. With that being said, Mugurza has the right to say this until Serena proves otherwise.

2) This is her attempting to psych Serena out.
While this is not to be overexamined or dramatically seen as something more than it is , it must be considered as Mugurza throwing a jab at Serena. Saying that "She (Serena) knows that I can win" is Mugurza sort of wanting Serena to doubt herself and take Mugurza seriously. With that being said , tug on Superwoman's cape, and you may not get the response that you want. Or it can work.
