Is Ty Lawson Right for Houston?

Ty Lawson has recently had three DUI offenses. The Denver Nuggets surely have to be glad to get rid of this liability. For this trade, Houston got rid of Johnson, Prigioni, Dorsey, and Papanikolaou. All of these players are not essential to the Rockets team and hopefully Lawson can help the Rockets next season.

If Lawson can cooperate with the law, Houston has a lot to gain from this trade. He’s young, he can shoot, score, and dribble. Last season he ranked 7th in total points produced in the NBA behind LeBron, James Harden, Steph Curry and a few other big name guys.  Accordingly, Houston gave up almost nothing to acquire Lawson. If this gamble turns out well, Lawson can be the difference maker for the Rockets.

In the Western Conference Finals, the Golden State Warriors crushed the Rockets. Having Ty Lawson could be key to Houston’s success next season. He would play extremely well with James Harden since both players are able to make crafty shots. Ty Lawson and James Harden know how to make the best decision when they have options. Together, they would be unstoppable.

The Rockets have to ensure that Ty Lawson can get to the playoffs along with Patrick Beverly (who was out for the 2015 playoffs). Beverly on defense and Lawson on offense is a great combination of guards that the Rockets strongly need.
