New Team, Same Dwight

Dwight Howard left the Orlando Magic, a small market town, because he was disappointed that the team could not attain any other stars to join him. We all remember how the feud went between him and Coach Van Gundy, who was eventually fired because of Dwight.

The Magic finally traded him to the Lakers, where once again, Dwight complained as he didn't get along with Kobe Bryant and had problems with how Coach D'antoni was using him. The feud has created bad blood between Bryant and Howard to this day. Bryant wanted to show Howard how to be a champion and Howard was not willing to listen to the five-time champion. Howard left the Lakers by getting ejected from an elimination game in the playoffs.

Next stop, Houston. Dwight Howard seemed to be having fun in Houston; however, many teammates accused Dwight and Harden of eating separately from the rest of the team and being selfish and thinking they were above the team. Dwight has always been criticized for his free throw shooting and post game. He didn't want to accept help from Kareem in LA, and Hakeem Olajuwon has criticized Dwight's progress in Houston as well.

Dwight has the most technical fouls and flagrant fouls in the playoffs thus far, and he was lucky to not get ejected more times than he did. However, when his team needed him, he went back to his old childish ways of whining, complaining, and being a detriment to his own team. Dwight Howard had a great series overall, yes, but he often causes trouble when the going starts to get tough, something Bryant had a huge problem with. Howard's career isn't looking any brighter as the years pass by, he relies mostly on his physical tools and little skill. After the series was lost, he tried to make excuses saying thing's like "he's a champion" to compensate for the reality. Superstars don't do that. Champions don't do that. Dwight Howard must change his mentality and mature in order to become the player he wants to be and for the Rockets to reach the promised land.
