After reaching the finals in 2012, the Thunder have only reached the Western Conference Finals once. Since they were annually face the championship or bust sort of season, the Thunder felt that Scott Brooks was no longer the man for the job. One person that GM Sam Presti does believe in is Billy Donovan.
Can this work?
Billy Donovan does have alot of experience in college basketball. He coached at the University of Florida for 19 years and won two National Championships there. The Thunder hopes that he can bring that experience along with him and make it work in the NBA. With that being said , I believe that the roster must change in order for the Thunder to get back to the finals as a coach can only take a team so far.
