The SEC West was Clearly Overrated, PAC 12 underrated

Remember how everyone was talking about the tough SEC West and how they were such a strong division? Remember when it was a joke when you compared the PAC 12 South with them? Well, the SEC West went 2-5 in bowl games, with only the bottom two teams winning. Alabama was embarrassed by an Ohio State team that many thought didn't even deserve to be in the playoff. Auburn was beaten by a Wisconsin team from a Big 10 conference many thought to be a joke. Mississippi State was manhandled by a Georgia Tech team that collapsed against Florida State. LSU lost to a Notre Dame team that crumbled in the second half of the season…. And don't really think I need to explain the slaughter TCU did on Ole Miss.

The fact of the matter is that the SEC in general has been considered dominant compared to the other college football conferences, and they didn't show that one bit as far as their bowl games go. The dominant conference showed to be the PAC 12, who seems to widely be disrespected year in and year out. Why are there no PAC 12 vs SEC match ups? Why did many of the PAC 12 teams work their way into the rankings and those ranked highly in the preseason (other than Stanford) not disappoint? Heck, even Stanford won their bowl game in dominating fashion. The PAC 12 went 6-2 in their bowl games and has Oregon playing for a title game. Many of the SEC teams wouldn't even be in bowl games if it weren't for them scheduling cupcake non-conference schedules. We need to have more PAC 12 vs SEC match ups, and hopefully we'll get that. In the meantime, we'll have to wait to see what happens in Arlington in 2016, USC vs Alabama.
