Why the recent Kobe Hating is Unreasonable

Kobe Bryant recently has passed up Michael Jordan on the NBA scoring list. His reward from many NBA fans? Scorching Kobe's accomplishment as insignificant, saying how much better Jordan is than him, and saying how much of a ballhog he is. No reasonable fan would say that Kobe is better than Jordan, but why not just appreciate the greatness that Kobe has established in his own right? Has he not done enough to earn some respect from his haters who still point "off court issues" as reasons he is bad at the game of basketball?

Kobe's accomplishments have a lot to do with the longevity he has had in a league where many other stars such as Vince Carter, T-Mac, AI, etc. have faded. He has been on the same franchise his whole career and has been an inspiration to many, including myself. His hard work, passion, and dedication to the game of basketball are no doubt on par with that of Jordan. Michael Jordan even respects Kobe and his accomplishments because he knows that Kobe has worked hard to achieve the accomplishments he has. In addition, Phil Jackson has said that Kobe worked hard throughout his career. Kobe has reached out to many of the all time greats to perfect his game as a student of the game and put in countless hours of work in doing so. He reached out to the greats of the game such as Jerry West, Hakeem Olajuwon, Jordan, and Kareem. Either way, people may be criticizing Kobe Bryant right now, but once he's gone, the league will surely miss his presence as one of the greatest players to ever play the game of basketball.
