Superbowl Showdown XLVIII

The time has finally arrived! On Feb.2 , one NFL team will be crowned Super bowl champs. This will be one of the best potential match-ups we have seen in  the past couple of years. This will be the battle of the NFL's offense vs the NFL's defense. The high powered Denver Broncos vs the tough, ball hawking Seattle Seahawks.

The Broncos are 1st in points per game (37.9), total yards per game (457.3), and passing yards per game (340.2). Led by quarterback and NFL Madden legend Peyton Manning, the Broncos passing game is nearly impossible to stop. Denver has multiple receivers that can help Peyton move the ball right down the field.

With the likes of Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, Wes Welker, and Julius Thomas all with at least 700 recieving yards this season, the Seahawks will have to take EVERY receiving option into account.  The Broncos have defeated San Diego in the divisional round, and the New England Patriots in the Conference Championship. In order to win their playoff games, the Broncos have had to score at least 24 points. So far, when they score over 24 points in a game, their record has been 13-1 throughout the regular season. Their overall record for the regular season is 13-3.

The Seattle Seahawks are 1st in points allowed (14.4), total yards allowed (273.6), and passing yards per game (172.0). The Seahawks are 7th in rushing yards per game. Led by everyone on the first team, the
Seahawks have the toughest defense in the NFL. You will not find another secondary that's better, and you will not find many rush defenses better. From Chris Clemons on the defensive end to Bobby Wagner at middle linebacker to Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas in the secondary, the Seahawks have a complete defense with a swagger of their own. The Seahawks have allowed 20 points or more in only 6 games this season! Yes, 6. That number is unheard of in the NFL. With that being said, the defense will have a tough task doing so against the Broncos. The Broncos have an amazing offense, but that doesn't mean the Seahawks aren't up for the challenge.

The magic number for the Broncos is 24. I believe that if the Broncos score 24 points or more, they will win the game. If the Broncos do not reach 24 points, the Seahawks will more than likely win the game. This Super Bowl will be one for the books, so brace for the Superbowl Showdown!
