And Now It's Down to Two

We’ve been waiting all year for the NBA Playoffs and it’s sadly almost over. Although my hometown team (the Houston Rockets) is not in the Finals, I am excited to see the match-up of Golden State vs. the Cavaliers.

Led by Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, Golden State has been unstoppable. These two golden boys have been able to put in shots from all over the court making it impossible for defenses to guard them. Curry averages 29.2 points per game in the Playoffs alone and is making 46.1% of field goals. He’s also making 43.7% of 3 points during the team’s playoff run. Thompson has had 19.7 points per game and has made 45.9% of field goals. He’s also successfully shot 42.5% of 3 pointers during the playoff run.

For the Cavaliers, a lot is riding on the leadership of LeBron James. Kevin Love is out due to a season-ending shoulder injury, but the Cavs have survived. Kyle Irving missed a few games due to injury, but this also did not stop the team. The Cavs have had two series sweeps so far in the playoffs and their record is 12-2. Although LeBron has not been the efficient scoring force expected of him, his numbers are still incredible. He averages 27.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game in the Eastern Conference playoffs thus far. LeBron cannot beat the Warriors alone though, and he will definitely need help by some few key players who have already made a splash in the Playoffs thus far. Iman Shumpert is averaging 10.1 points per game and is shooting 36.8% for 3 pointers. J. R. Smith is averaging 13.5 points per game and is shooting 39.6% for 3 pointers.

Fans should be prepared for both teams dominating on defense and offense. The Warriors and Cavaliers have star power to carry the teams to victories, so each will provide tough competition in the quest for the title.
